{"id":9924,"date":"2020-01-01T15:08:05","date_gmt":"2020-01-01T23:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=9924"},"modified":"2020-01-01T15:16:00","modified_gmt":"2020-01-01T23:16:00","slug":"january-1-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=9924","title":{"rendered":"January 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>2010 January 1a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>Jeremy Tatum writes:&nbsp; I went to Goldstream Park this morning, hoping to find an  <em>Erannis<\/em>.&nbsp; I was unsuccessful &#8211; I may have left it too late in the season.&nbsp; However, there were lots of Winter Moths there &#8211; mostly  <em>occidentalis <\/em>&nbsp;and &#8220;dunnos&#8221;.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;I couldn&#8217;t resist photographing a well-patterned one, shown below.&nbsp; I believe it to be  <em>occidentalis<\/em>.&nbsp; The <em>occidentalis <\/em>&#8220;streak&#8221; isn&#8217;t very obvious, but is best seen (as it often is) when viewed from a distance.
