I managed a couple of pictures of a<strong> California<\/strong> <strong>Tortoiseshell<\/strong>, and then, while waiting for it to reappear, I noticed a <strong>Red Admiral<\/strong> on the Buddleia flowers. I also photographed a <strong> syrphid fly<\/strong> on some fall Asters.\u00a0 [Jeremy Tatum writes:\u00a0 The fly was identified for us \u2013 within minutes! \u2013 by Dr Jeff Skevington, in Ottawa!]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And Mike McGrenere writes, from Cordova Bay:\u00a0 Barb and I watched a <strong>Satyr Comma<\/strong> land on the sunny stucco of our house this afternoon.
