a species that can be found almost anywhere without driving to Goldstream Park!\u00a0\u00a0 At the Swan Lake nature house there were two <strong><em>Sicya croceata<\/em><\/strong> and one <strong><em>Eulithis xylina<\/em><\/strong>, both well out of camera reach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" style=\"width: 625px; margin: 5px;\" src=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/jtatum\/AppData\/Local\/Temp\/msohtmlclip1\/01\/clip_image002.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"pastedImage.png\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pastedImage-130.png\" width=\"566.4\" height=\"386.67692307692306\" name=\"null\" \/><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Idaea dimidiata <\/em>(Lep.: Geometridae)\u00a0 Jeremy Tatum<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u00a0 Jeremy continues:\u00a0\u00a0 Today, June 26, I had one of the most interesting moth experiences I have had for a long time.\u00a0 On June I found, on Reed Canary Grass at Rithet\u2019s Bog, the creature shown on June 11 and repeated below.\u00a0 Inside the case, made of grass fragments, is a caterpillar, part of which can be seen sticking out of the right hand side of the case.\u00a0 This is, a believe, what is called a <strong>bagworm<\/strong>, and I believe the species is <strong><em>Psyche casta<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 The male of the species is a small moth with bipectinate antennae and black wings.\u00a0 The female is wingless and stays inside her case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" style=\"width: 624px; margin: 5px;\" src=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/jtatum\/AppData\/Local\/Temp\/msohtmlclip1\/01\/clip_image004.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"pastedImage.png\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pastedImage-131.png\" width=\"566.4\" height=\"413.9076923076923\" name=\"null\" \/><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Psyche casta <\/em>(Lep.: Psychidae)\u00a0 Jeremy Tatum<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shortly after the above photograph was taken, the caterpillar disappeared inside the case, and remained motionless for several days, after which some part of a moth (I couldn\u2019t see it very well) appeared at the rear end of the case.\u00a0 It evidently was a female.\u00a0 I kept her in a sealed plastic box, not being quite sure what to do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This morning, June 26, I just happened to open the box for a few minutes.\u00a0\u00a0 Within minutes two small black moths, of a sort I had never seen before, appeared\u00a0 fluttering outside my apartment window.\u00a0 The window was open for about two inches, and one of the moths flew though this into my apartment, and went straight for the plastic box and started to copulate with the female.\u00a0 I managed to get a couple of not-very-good photographs.\u00a0 In the photographs, he is sitting at the rear end of the case.\u00a0 This is the most exciting moth thing I have seen for a long time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" style=\"width: 624px;
