{"id":8295,"date":"2019-06-21T19:56:09","date_gmt":"2019-06-22T02:56:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=8295"},"modified":"2019-06-21T19:57:12","modified_gmt":"2019-06-22T02:57:12","slug":"june-21-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=8295","title":{"rendered":"June 21"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>2019 June 21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>Jeremy Tatum reports that, at 6:30 pm yesterday evening, he saw an  <strong>Anise Swallowtail<\/strong> at the entrance to the reservoir on Mount Tolmie.&nbsp; This evening, June 21, there were about six  <strong>Painted Ladies<\/strong> and a <strong>Lorquin&#8217;s Admiral <\/strong>on the top of Mount Tolmie, but I didn&#8217;t see the Anise Swallowtail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Marie Shaughnessy writes that she saw and photographed a  <strong>Common Emerald Moth <\/strong>(a European invader!) on the grass on Linden Street on June 18.&nbsp; She writes that she hasn&#8217;t seen a green moth before.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" style=\"width: 624px; margin: 5px;\" class=\"\" src=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/jtatum\/AppData\/Local\/Temp\/msohtmlclip1\/01\/clip_image002.jpg\">  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" name=\"null\" title=\"pastedImage.png\" originalwidth=\"624\" originalheight=\"437\" width=\"567.2\" height=\"397.22179487179494\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pastedImage-96.png\">  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Common Emerald <em>Hemithea aestivaria <\/em>(Lep.: Geometridae)&nbsp; Marie O&#8217;Shaughnessy<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;&nbsp; Butterflies, moths and dragonflies have been well-represented recently, so I hinted (writes Jeremy Tatum) to Scott Gilmore that we would welcome some beetles, and Scott promptly obliged!&nbsp; Scott writes:&nbsp; Here are a couple of beetles   from Lantzville to fill the void. This first is <strong><em>Uloma longula<\/em><\/strong> from the family Tenebrionidae.
