long as I remember.\u00a0 Three names have appeared in the literature:\u00a0 <em>P. rimosa, portlandia <\/em>and <em>californica<\/em>, but whether these are full species, subspecies or mere synonyms changes from year to year.\u00a0 Jochen\u2019s specimen mostly resembles the form currently called <em>P. californica<\/em>, although on this site we have been calling similar forms <em>P. wait another week or so.\u00a0 The lupins were showing no signs of flowers yet.\u00a0 For the record, first dates for this butterfly in the last four years have been rather<\/p>\n<p
