\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Numbers.\u00a0 Sonia Voicescu asks that, for butterflies<\/span> , it would be helpful to her if observers would avoid such phrases as \u201ca few\u201d or \u201cseveral\u201d and try to give an approximate number.\u00a0 An accurate count is not needed \u2013 a very rough estimate will do. \u00a0Even something like \u201chalf-a-dozen or so\u201d would be fine.\u00a0 The problem is that Sonia needs a number before she can submit our observations to eButterfly.\u00a0 Or, to be more accurate, the eButterfly computer needs a number!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 Jeremy Tatum writes:\u00a0 There was a California Tortoiseshell <\/strong>on the Mount Tolmie reservoir at 3:30 pm yesterday (April 19) afternoon.<\/p>\n

It was the first one I have seen in our yard in 15 years. \u00a0On our walk up Charters Creek we saw three blue butterflies under the trestle, probably Western Spring Azures<\/strong> [Jeremy Tatum writes:\u00a0 At this tine of year almost certainly],but they would not land.<\/p>\n
