are as follows\u00a0 :\u00a0\u00a0 On Mount Tolmie we had a prolonged close view of an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Anise Swallowtail<\/strong><\/span> flying around and perching on the Fennel.\u00a0 \u00a0Jeff saw a <strong>Lorquin\u2019s Admiral<\/strong> and a <strong>Western Tiger Swallowtail<\/strong> on the way up the hill from Cedar Hill Cross Road.\u00a0 Then\u00a0we went to Island View Beach to look, unsuccessfully, for Purplish Coppers, but between Island View Beach and Saanichton Spit we saw the following\u00a0:\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>3 Lorquin\u2019s Admirals, 7<\/strong> <strong>Woodland Skippers, 2 Cabbage Whites<\/strong>.\u00a0 At Saanichton Spit we saw the following :\u00a0\u00a0<strong> 3 or more Woodland Skippers, <\/strong>at least 2 and maybe 3 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Western Branded Skippers<\/strong><\/span> (our target species for the day), <strong>3 Ringlets, 2 Cabbage Whites and 1 Lorquin\u2019s Admiral.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Along the way back to our cars from Saanichton Spit we stopped to look at more of the ubiquitous <strong>Woodland Skippers<\/strong>, no one listening to Aziza who tried in vain to tell everyone that one of them wasn\u2019t a Woodland Skipper.\u00a0 Eventually she was vindicated when she took an excellent photograph of what proved to be a rather late <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Essex Skipper<\/strong><\/span>, for a total of eight species \u2013 an excellent number for a dry season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u00a0 Here are some photographs from the trip, by Aziza Cooper and Gordon Hart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" style=\"width: 563px;
