<\/strong>Jeremy Tatum writes:&nbsp; <strong>Lorquin&#8217;s Admirals  <\/strong>and <strong>Western<\/strong><strong>&nbsp; <\/strong><strong>Tiger Swallowtails  <\/strong>are general now and are at<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">their best (although we haven&#8217;t actually received any recent reports of Pale Tiger Swallowtail.)&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;&nbsp; Yesterday evening there were three or four <strong>  Painted Ladies<\/strong> on the Mount Tolmie reservoir.&nbsp; This <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">evening there were a <strong>Painted Lady<\/strong> and a  <strong>Red Admiral<\/strong> there, as well as an <strong>Anise Swallowtail<\/strong> on the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Philadelphus <\/em>bush at the reservoir entrance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; On the way  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">there, David spotted a <strong>Red Admiral<\/strong> at Goldstream Park.&nbsp; On the railway line we met three more<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;butterfly-ers&nbsp; &#8211;Rick Schortinghuis,&nbsp; Ben van Drimmelen and a Ms Johnson, who    <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Jeremy hopes will forgive him <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">for forgetting her first name.&nbsp; We saw several <strong>  Margined Whites<\/strong> and <strong>Cedar Hairstreaks<\/strong>, as well as <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">several blues whose identities we could not be 100 per cent certain of.&nbsp; We think probably Western  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Tailed Blues, though it is possible that they may have been late Spring Azures, or even some other  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">species.&nbsp; Some of them seemed to be attracted to Cascara trees.&nbsp; It would be nice if some other  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">observers might go there and try to identify these blues with certainty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp; Jeremy Tatum writes:&nbsp; Just after I had written the above paragraph, I received the following from Val  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">George!:-<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;Only three members (Rick Schortinghuis, Ben van Drimmelen, and myself Val George) participated in the&nbsp;VNHS Birds and Butterflies trip to the Duncan area today, June 16.&nbsp; We went to the dock road at Cowichan Bay, Providence Farm,   Cowichan River, Mount Pr\u00e9vost, and Cowichan Station.&nbsp; Twelve species of butterflies were seen<strong>:&nbsp; Western Tiger Swallowtail, Pale Swallowtail, Anise Swallowtail, Cabbage White, Margined White, Western Spring Azure, Green Comma, Cedar Hairstreak, Purplish   Copper, Hydaspe&nbsp;Fritillary, Lorquin&#8217;s Admiral, and Essex Skipper.&nbsp; <\/strong>Some photos are attached.&nbsp;&nbsp;  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Jeremy continues:&nbsp; but it is past my bedtime &#8211; so we&#8217;ll eagerly wait to see the photos tomorrow!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>&nbsp;
