The next walk is on August 2.\u00a0We\u00a0meet at Mt Tolmie summit at 1:00pm and decide on our destination from there.\u00a0The walk will be cancelled if the weather is cool or rainy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Devon Parker writes:\u00a0 I was up on the San Juan Ridge (that\u2019s 22 km E of Port Renfrew) today and I found six species of butterflies and managed to get photos of 5 of them. I got lucky and found two blue-listed ones. <strong>Anna&#8217;s Blue<\/strong> (<strong><em>Lycaeides anna vancouverensis<\/em><\/strong>) and <strong>Clodius Parnassian<\/strong> (<strong><em>Parnassius clodius claudiannus<\/em><\/strong>). There were many (25+) <strong>Mariposa Copper <\/strong>(<strong><em>Lycaena mariposa mariposa<\/em><\/strong>) just viewed from the roadside. There was a single male <strong>Anna&#8217;s Blue<\/strong> (<strong><em>Lycaeides anna vancouverensis<\/em><\/strong>). There were two <strong>Clodius Parnassians<\/strong> (<strong><em>Parnassius clodius claudiannus<\/em><\/strong>). There was a single <strong>Hydaspe<\/strong> <strong>Fritillary<\/strong> (<strong><em>Speyeria hydaspe rhodope<\/em><\/strong>). There was one <strong>Lorquin&#8217;s Admiral<\/strong> (<strong><em>Limenitis<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>lorquini ilgae<\/em><\/strong>). I also saw what I believe was a single <strong><em>Pyrgus ruralis ruralis<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[Jeremy Tatum writes:\u00a0 Gosh, San Juan Ridge sounds like a place well worth visiting for butterfly watchers.
