\u00a0\u00a0 And a bee fly <\/strong>photographed by Gordon Hart at Prospect Lake Road.\u00a0 Although there are many species of bombyliid, according to the website https:\/\/bugguide.net\/node\/view\/14997<\/a>\u00a0 Bombylius major<\/em><\/strong> is the only Nearctic Bombylius <\/em>species with the wing pattern shown by Aziza\u2019s and Gordon\u2019s flies.\u00a0 So, although the piles are different colours in these two individuals, I shall label them both Bombylius major<\/em><\/strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Any comments by knowledgeable dipterists would be welcome.<\/p>\n
