   <\/strong>Another Reminder:<\/strong>  <\/strong>Please, please, <\/em>please!<\/span> if you can,send photographs as attachments in .jpg format.  <\/p>\n

 <\/strong><\/p>\n

   <\/strong>The VNHS September Butterfly Walk took place yesterday, in very hot weather.  There were 12 participants, who went first to McIntyre Reservoir, and then to Martindale Road, in Central Saanich.  Butterflies seen were:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cabbage White:<\/strong>                      <\/strong>many<\/p>\n

Orange <\/strong>Sulphur<\/strong>:<\/strong>                     <\/strong>several<\/p>\n

Purplish Copper:<\/strong>                    <\/strong>2<\/p>\n

Painted Lady:<\/strong>             <\/strong>            1<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

  Also found was a full-grown caterpillar of the White-lined Hawk Moth <\/strong>Hyles lineata<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

 <\/strong><\/p>\n

    We hope to have more photographs and details from the Walk in due course.<\/p>\n

     In the meantime, other photographs received –<\/p>\n

     We have commented on this site how numerous and widespread the geometrid moth Neoalcis californiaria<\/em><\/strong> seems to be this year.  Bryan Gates sends a photograph from Black Creek<\/p>\n
