15"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>2016 May 15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Jeremy Gatten and Jeremy Tatum wish to express their great appreciation to Michael and Devon Parker for showing us the <strong>Johnson\u2019s Hairstreak <\/strong>near Jordan River yesterday (May 14).\u00a0 We all had excellent views of this rare butterfly.\u00a0 We also saw the <strong>Hoary ( \u201cZephyr\u201d) Comma, <\/strong>an unidentified comma but thought to be probably a<strong> Green Comma<\/strong>,\u00a0 a few <strong>Western Pine Elfins <\/strong>and<strong> Two-banded Grizzled Skippers.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Jeremy Gatten found a caterpillar of the moth <strong><em>Campaea perlata<\/em><\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>And Jeremy Tatum was excited by an as-yet-to be-identified noctuid caterpillar.\u00a0 Here is Jeremy Tatum\u2019s photograph of Jeremy Gatten\u2019s <em>Campaea Geometridae)\u00a0\u00a0 Jeremy Tatum<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Tatum also thanks Devon for letting him have one of the eggs of the <strong> Two-banded Grizzled Skipper<\/strong>, which he saw being laid on <em>Rubus ursinus<\/em> near Jordan Rover on May 10.\u00a0 The egg hatched early on the morning of May 14, and the young caterpillar is being offered two species of <em>Rubus <\/em>\u00a0and two of <em>Fragaria<\/em>.\u00a0 So far, it has been nibbling on <em> Rubus ursinus.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img Tatum<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Jeremy Tatum apologizes, but he is a little behind with Invert Alert.\u00a0 There are lots of fine photographs in the queue, and I\u2019ll try and get them all up in the next couple of days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0
