Aziza Cooper writes:\u00a0 On July 10, at Tod Creek Flats, there were five Cabbage Whites<\/strong> and one Essex Skipper<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 On July 11, at Island View Beach, there were two Cabbage Whites<\/strong> and over 50 Essex Skippers<\/strong>. I went north to the base of Saanichton Spit but didn’t see any other butterfly species.\u00a0 Aziza sends these photographs:<\/p>\n

Kirsten Mills writes:\u00a0 \u00a0 Jeff Gaskin\u00a0 and I\u00a0 were at Outerbridge Park and McIntyre Road reservoir on July 11 and found the following dragonflies\u00a0 :\u00a0 \u00a0At Outerbridge Park we saw 3 Four-spotted Skimmers, 2 Blue<\/strong> Dashers, 3 Blue-eyed Darners <\/strong>and 2 Cardinal Meadowhawks<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0At McIntyre Road reservoir,\u00a0we saw no fewer than 3 Black Saddlebags,\u00a0 4 Common Green Darners,\u00a0 6 Blue Dashers,\u00a0 9 Eight-spotted Skimmers,\u00a0 7 Blue-eyed Darners, 8 Western Pondhawks, <\/strong>and 3 Cardinal Meadowhawks<\/strong>.\u00a0 Also, there were at least 20 Tule Bluets<\/strong>.\u00a0 Jeff also saw a Common Green Darner<\/strong> as well as Blue-eyed Darners<\/strong>, and Blue Dashers<\/strong> at Swan Lake in the morning.\u00a0 Kirsten sends these photographs.\u00a0 Note that the Western Pondhawk is perching flat on he ground \u2013 one of its characteristic habits.<\/p>\n
