Val George writes:\u00a0\u00a0 This Anise Swallowtail<\/strong> was at the Mount Douglas summit yesterday, June 20. Also there were three Pale Tiger Swallowtails<\/strong> and a Painted Lady<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Gordon Hart writes:\u00a0 This morning at Maber Flats some of our birding group noticed a number of butterflies – several Cabbage Whites<\/strong>, my first of the year Essex Skipper<\/strong>, and a Western Tiger Swallowtail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jeff Gaskin writes:\u00a0\u00a0 Here is the list of butterflies and dragonflies that Kirsten Mills and I saw today, June 21.\u00a0 \u00a0First of all, after 2:30 p.m. we went to McIntyre reservoir where we saw at least 10 Tule Bluets<\/strong> and the odd Pacific Forktail<\/strong>.\u00a0 The dragonflies included the following\u00a0 :\u00a0 \u00a03 Cardinal <\/strong>and 2 Variegated Meadowhawks<\/strong>,\u00a0 1 Blue-eyed<\/strong> and 3 Common Green Darners<\/strong>, 1 Western Pondhawk,<\/strong>\u00a0 1 Blue Dasher<\/strong>, and 3 Eight-spotted Skimmers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Then at 4:15 p.m.\u00a0 we went to the 7500 block of West Saanich Road to a field of daisies next to a cemetery where we saw 2 Field Crescents<\/strong> and up to 8 European (Essex) Skippers<\/strong>.\u00a0 Finally, after 5:15 p.m. we went to Mount Tolmie where at the concrete reservoir there was a Painted Lady<\/strong> and 2 Red Admirals<\/strong>.\u00a0 Nearby there were a Western Tiger Swallowtail<\/strong> and a Lorquin’s Admiral<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
