Jeremy Tatum writes:\u00a0 This afternoon, May 8, at 5:30 pm, there were two Painted Ladies <\/strong>flying around the Jeffrey Pine at the top of Mount Tolmie, and a Mourning Cloak<\/strong> basking on the reservoir.<\/p>\n

Harvestmen are apparently fierce predators.\u00a0 Recent photographs by Ian Cooper on the site have shown a harvestman apparently feeding on a earthworm, and another feeding on what may be spider.\u00a0 The photograph below shows a harvestman feeding upon what may be an ant.\u00a0 Dr Bragg describes this harvestman as a somewhat \u201coverfed\u201d Protolophus<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The photograph below shows a harvestman feeding upon what looks like another harvestman!<\/p>\n

Ian photographed this colourful beetle in View Royal \u2013 confirmed by Scott Gilmore to be Chrysophana placida<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
