identification challenges.\u00a0\u00a0 The first is a cocoon, probably that formed by the caterpillar of an arctiine moth.\u00a0 Jeremy Tatum makes a wild guess at probably <strong><em>Spilosoma virginica.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong> <strong>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-20046 aligncenter\" 100vw, 441px\" \/><\/strong>Probably <em>Spilosoma virginica <\/em>(Lep.: Erebidae \u2013 Arctiinae)\u00a0 Cheryl Hoyle<\/p>\n<p>An even bigger challenge was this dragonfly exuvia.\u00a0 Jeremy Tatum writes that he didn\u2019t think any sort of identification was possible, other than possibly Family.\u00a0 No problem, however.\u00a0 Dr Rob Cannings identified it as <em>Ophiogomphus occidentis<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-20048 aligncenter\"
