First sighting (March 30) is two <strong>Sara Orangetips<\/strong> next to Highway 1 near the south corner of Skirt Mountain, chasing each other. There was also a <strong>Cabbage White<\/strong> next to the highway before Thetis Lake. The other sighting (April 1) is one <strong>Western Brown Elfin<\/strong>, one <strong>Sara Orangetip <\/strong>and one <strong>Cabbage White<\/strong> at a residence located on Flanagan Place in Colwood.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon Hart writes:\u00a0 Today, we saw a <strong>California Tortoiseshell<\/strong> in the yard landing on the <em>Ceanothus<\/em> (\u201cCalifornia Lilac\u201d) which is their larval food-plant. We had continuing <strong>Sara Orangetips<\/strong>, <strong>Moss\u2019s Elfin<\/strong>, and two <strong> Western Spring Azures<\/strong>. The tortoiseshell was in very good condition and the admiral still looked pretty good as well.
