Jeremy Tatum writes that at 4:30 this afternoon one each of the three Vanessa<\/em>s \u2013 Painted Lady, West Coast Lady, Red Admiral – <\/strong>were still on the Mount Tolmie reservoir, while two more Painted Ladies <\/strong>flew around the Jeffery Pine.<\/p>\n

We have not finished yet this year with Red Admirals <\/strong>and Mourning Cloaks<\/strong>.\u00a0 Here is a Red Admiral <\/strong>caterpillar, and a Mourning Cloak<\/strong> caterpillar preparing to pupate.\u00a0 The adult butterflies should be out in a few weeks.<\/p>\n

We shall have to wait until next Spring, however, to see the moth arising from this caterpillar:<\/p>\n

Val George has been having a number of Chlorochroa ligata <\/em>Stink Bugs <\/strong>on his raspberry plants in Oak Bay.\u00a0 Here is an adult and a nymph of the same species.<\/p>\n
