In addition to the species mentioned in yesterday\u2019s Invert Alert, Kirsten Mills and Jeff Gaskin, in their trip to the Nanaimo River Road, also saw two Clodius Parnassians<\/strong> and a Chalk-fronted Corporal<\/strong>.\u00a0 Here is Kirsten\u2019s photograph of the latter:<\/p>\n

Jeff Gaskin writes: Today, July 3rd, the butterflies at Swan Lake were the usual again except for numerous Lorquin’s Admirals<\/strong>, some Western Tiger Swallowtails<\/strong> and just a few Essex Skippers<\/strong> and Cabbage Whites<\/strong>.\u00a0 The dragonflies though were spectacular on the other hand.\u00a0 At the north end of the floating board walk there were 3 Eight-spotted Skimmers<\/strong>, upwards of 20 Blue Dashers, 1 Cardinal<\/strong> Meadowhawk<\/strong>, a few Blue-eyed Darners<\/strong>, 1 Common Green Darner<\/strong> and one that I’m pretty sure was a Black Saddlebags<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
