Jeff Gaskin writes:\u00a0 June 12, Kirsten Mills and I had a good time looking for butterflies and dragonflies in Cowichan and along the Nanaimo River Road.\u00a0 Along Nanaimo River Road we saw a Dun Skipper<\/strong> and 8 Clodius Parnassians<\/strong>.\u00a0 Four of the Clodius Parnassians were across the street from 1639 Nanaimo River Road.\u00a0 A few Western Spring Azures<\/strong> were still flying in this area too.\u00a0 Also, in the area were good numbers of Lorquin’s Admirals<\/strong>, Pale<\/strong> and Western Tiger Swallowtails<\/strong> and Cabbage Whites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Among the dragonflies seen included the following:\u00a0 a Cardinal Meadowhawk<\/strong>, a Common Whitetail<\/strong>, a Four-spotted Skimmer<\/strong> and Blue-eyed<\/strong> Darners<\/strong> at the pond down the road from the Duncan sewage lagoons.\u00a0 Another Common Whitetail<\/strong>, and Blue-eyed Darners<\/strong> were at Spectacle Lake.<\/p>\n
