Last year Rosemary Jorna showed a series of photographs from the Kemp Lake area of the Ceanothus Giant Silk Moth Hyalophora euryalus <\/i><\/b>from oviposition to construction of a cocoon\u00a0 (2022 May 6, 8, 27,\u00a0 June 21, 25, July 13).\u00a0 Rosemary now deserves congratulations for seeing the insect through its complete cycle, for an adult moth emerged today:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 Jeff Gaskin has been finding butterflies yesterday and today.\u00a0 He writes: Yesterday, April 28<\/b>, I saw some butterflies in Cuthbert Holmes Park.\u00a0 I saw the following:\u00a0 \u00a01 Mourning Cloak<\/b>,\u00a0 5 Sara Orangetips<\/b>,\u00a0 3 Western Spring Azures<\/b> and 8 Cabbage Whites<\/b>. \u00a0Today, April 29<\/b>, I found a Western Brown Elfin<\/b> on a plant in someone’s private residence on Saanich Road. near Swan Lake.\u00a0 At Blenkinsop Lake I saw one Satyr Comma,\u00a0 8 Western Spring Azures<\/b> and an incredible 7 Mourning Cloaks<\/b>.\u00a0 There were 3 Mourning Cloaks south of the bridge, 1 at the bridge, and 3 north of the lake.\u00a0 One of the latter was near Lohbrunner Road.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
