line-height: 115%; font-size: 11pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0 Last year Ian Cooper found caterpillars of the <b>Grey Hairstreak <\/b>butterfly on the flowers of <i>Mentha <\/i>along the Galloping Goose Trail near Harriet Road.\u00a0 Jeremy Tatum took one of them for rearing.\u00a0 Photographs of the caterpillar are to be found on the Invert Alert posting for 2022 September 29, and of the pupa, 2022 October 5.\u00a0 The adult butterfly emerged today, and was released by Jeremy and Ian where the caterpillar was found.\u00a0 Below is a \u201cstudio\u201d photograph of the underside by Jeremy.\u00a0\u00a0 After release, Ian managed to get photographs of the underside and upperside in a more natural setting, also shown below.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"postie-post\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-right: 0px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image-60.png\" alt=\"image.png\" width=\"485\" height=\"350\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;
