{"id":16999,"date":"2022-10-18T20:17:09","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T03:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=16999"},"modified":"2022-12-02T21:34:23","modified_gmt":"2022-12-03T05:34:23","slug":"2022-october-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=16999","title":{"rendered":"2022 October 18"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"postie-post\">\n<div>\n<p><strong>2022 October 18<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Jeremy Tatum writes:\u00a0 Apologies \u2013 no Invert Alert yesterday, October 17 \u2013 my computer was down all day, but is better today.<\/p>\n<p>Several viewers have noticed that my old web \u201cbook\u201d on <strong>Butterflies and Moths of Southern Vancouver<\/strong> <strong>Island<\/strong> has been unavailable for a while.\u00a0 It was originally hosted by Furman University (South Carolina) and managed there by Dr John Snyder.\u00a0 Earlier this year its time with Furman expired, but Dr Snyder was able to rescue a copy and send it to me by mail on a flash drive, which I forwarded to Claudia Copley.\u00a0 Since then Claudia successfully prevailed upon the expertise of <strong>Adam Taylor<\/strong> to restore it to the Internet, and it can now be reached as a VNHS document at<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/vicnhs.bc.ca\/lepsvi\/index.htm\">http:\/\/vicnhs.bc.ca\/lepsvi\/index.htm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 On my computer, I find that control + inner click works.<\/p>\n<p>I have not updated or edited it in any way, and as far as I can see it is exactly as it used to be.\u00a0 The taxonomy used in the site is as it was before the overhaul of the Noctuoidea a few years ago.\u00a0 Since then, the new family Erebidae has been erected, which includes the former Lymantriidae and Arctiidae and a large section of the former Noctuidae as subfamilies. The new taxomomy is used in InvertebrateAlert.<\/p>\n<p>The first page of the site still carries the words \u201cThis electronic book is housed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.furman.edu\">Furman University<\/a>.
