{"id":15047,"date":"2021-10-04T12:00:11","date_gmt":"2021-10-04T19:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=15047"},"modified":"2021-10-04T12:07:20","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T19:07:20","slug":"2021-october-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/?p=15047","title":{"rendered":"2021 October 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>2021 October 4 morning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>Jeremy Tatum writes:&nbsp; I didn&rsquo;t have to wait long for an answer to my appeal for a photograph of a <strong>Banded Woolly Bear.&nbsp; <\/strong>Rosemary Jorna saw one up there on the Matterhorn along with the American Lady that was shown in yesterday&rsquo;s posting.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Banded-Woolly.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"694\" height=\"521\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Banded Woolly Bear&nbsp; <em>Pyrrharctia isabella <\/em>(Lep.: Erebidae &ndash;Arctiinae)&nbsp; Rosemary Jorna<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Mr E photographed some <strong>springtails <\/strong>near Mount Douglas Beach.&nbsp; We are grateful to Dr Frans Jannsens for identifying them for us.&nbsp;&nbsp; When I was young, which was a long time ago, life was simple, and springtails were in the Order Collembola in the Class Insecta.&nbsp; Nowadays, life is more complicated.
