This was near Esquimalt Gorge Park.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&nbsp; <\/em><\/strong>Gordon Hart writes<strong>:<\/strong><strong>&nbsp; <\/strong> On Saturday March 7 in our yard, I saw the orange and black moth<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Archiearis infans<\/em><\/strong> again. Besides that one, I saw two <strong><em>Epirrhoe plebeculata<\/em><\/strong> and I got a picture of an even smaller geometrid with brown and black patterning.<em>&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp;We also saw at least two <strong>Satyr Commas<\/strong> and I think the <strong>Green Comma<\/strong> as well. I also saw my first <strong>Cabbage<\/strong> <strong>White<\/strong> of the year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Jeremy Tatum responds:&nbsp; All three moths that Gordon mentions are early day-flying geometrids, although <em>Archiearis<\/em> is far from typical, the caterpillar having three pairs of mid-abdominal prolegs.
