margin: 5px;\" src=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/jtatum\/AppData\/Local\/Temp\/msohtmlclip1\/01\/clip_image004.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"pastedImage.png\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/pastedImage-44.png\" name=\"null\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Silvery Blue <em>Glaucopsyche lygdamus <\/em>(Lep.: Lycaenidae)\u00a0 Ron Flower<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0Jeremy Tatum writes:\u00a0\u00a0 This seems to be a good time to venture up to the railway line north of Cowichan Station.\u00a0 (I don&#8217;t know if anyone has explored to the south.)\u00a0 Last year I saw an Arctic Skipper there.\u00a0 Unfortunately, because of a computer glitch, I can&#8217;t immediately find the date, but it is a species to look out for there.\u00a0 Also, if anyone sees a Parnassian there, we need to make a special effort to identify the species.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Where do the Margined Whites lay their eggs along the Cowichan railway line?\u00a0 I suspect usually on Water Cress, although the only ones I have found have been on Dame&#8217;s Rocket (&#8220;Violet&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are probably Silvery Blues at many of the roadside lupin patches, but it would be very dangerous to search in some of them, and we do not encourage it where it is not safe.\u00a0 The one at the Colwood turn-off should be visited.\u00a0 Ova are easy to see.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Until I have sorted out my computer glitch, I can&#8217;t advise on dates for Field Crescents at Eddy&#8217;s , but they must be coming up soon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2021 May 15 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Ron Flower writes: &nbsp;
