\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>The Daily Photo on page B6 of today’s Times-Colonist<\/em> shows a good photograph of a “black and yellow fuzzy caterpillar”.\u00a0 \u00a0Users of this site will recognize it as a Spotted Tiger Moth Lophocampa maculata<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Ian Cooper sends photographs of a bee, kindly identified by Claudia Copley and by Matthias Buck as a megachilid Resin Bee <\/strong>Dianthidium <\/em><\/strong>sp<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 This is in the same Family as the leafcutter bees, although apparently it does not share the leaf-cutting and construction habits of other\u00a0 members of the Family.<\/p>\n
