\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Butterfly Walk today!<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>The monthly butterfly walk is today<\/span>, 1:00 pm.\u00a0 Meet at the top of Mount Tolmie.\u00a0 On yesterday’s posting, I had put Sunday August 1; I have now corrected this.\u00a0 Apologies to anyone who turned up yesterday.\u00a0 Thanks to Mr E for pointing out the mistake.\u00a0 Once again I appeal to users \u2013 if you spot any mistakes of any sort on Invert Alert, please do let me know!\u00a0 It is easy for me to correct mistakes, and I’m never offended.\u00a0 On the contrary, it is a compliment to me that someone should be reading the Alerts so carefully!<\/p>\n

\u00a0 The genus Pero<\/em><\/strong> has several similar species, such that the variation within a species is greater than the variation between species, which makes accurate identification from photographs, however good, difficult, writes Jeremy Tatum.\u00a0 I have been labelling them with the word “probably” \u2013 which means I could well be wrong.\u00a0 Gordon’s Pero <\/em>has lots of tiny dark speckles, which makes me label it “probably morrisonaria<\/em>“, but it looks awfully like others that I have labelled “probably” honestaria <\/em>(August 1 afternoon) and mizon<\/em>\u00a0 <\/em>(July 31 afternoon).<\/p>\n
