The butterflies were the highlight, though. We saw two <strong>California Tortoiseshells<\/strong> at the top (one by the teacup lookout and the other by the tower), 15 <strong>Sara Orangetips<\/strong>, 3 <strong>Spring Azures<\/strong> and 3 <strong> Propertius Duskywings<\/strong>. It was busy laying eggs of the buds of the Himalayan Blackberry <em>Rubus discolor. <\/em>The moth inspired Annie to write an ode in its honour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Ode to a White Ribbon Carpet Moth<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>Annie Pang<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This tiny flitting, whimsy passing by;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>is it a bit of petal or of cloth?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Too small to be a tiny butterfly,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>by day, could it possibly be a moth?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I try to follow as it hovers near,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>and looks as if quite soon it will alight<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>but then to my dismay, oh dear, oh dear,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>it changes course!&nbsp;
