<\/em><\/strong>The <strong><em>Eupithecia cretaceata <\/em><\/strong>below, photographed by Jochen, is one of the larger pugs, and one that it is relatively (i.e. relative to most other pugs) easy to identify.&nbsp; Its caterpillar feeds on the flowers   of <em>Veratrum viride<\/em>, which is generally described as one of the most deadly poisonous (to humans) plants in our countryside.<\/p>\n<p>  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" name=\"null\" title=\"pastedImage.png\" originalwidth=\"624\" originalheight=\"308\" rszimgcmd=\"100\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vicnhs.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/pastedImage-113.png\">  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Eupithecia cretaceata <\/em>(Lep.: Geometridae)&nbsp; Jochen M\u00f6hr<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Jochen also reports seeing a <strong>Western Tiger Swallowtail<\/strong>, an  <strong>Anise Swallowtail<\/strong> and a <strong>Western Spring Azure <\/strong>(also known as Echo Blue) on his Metchosin property.&nbsp;
